Ta-Daaa!!!
Now, I was told there would be recipes, but when I visited torani.com, The website pretty much shrugged and said, "Coffee, maybe?" on the search for both flavors. So I was on my own...my voyage began.
First stop was the logical one...put these lovely items into coffee. I prefer iced, so I whipped up my usual iced coffee with vanilla soy milk, (Okay, two of them) and added the Gingerbread Syrup to one and the Sugar Free Salted Caramel Syrup to the other. It was unbelievable. I've been paying coffee places beaucoup bucks to make me coffee that tastes that good, and all I had to do all this time was buy Torani syrup.
Tell me that is not some seriously sexy looking coffee.
The Gingerbread flavor blended with the vanilla flavor of the milk to create a spicy creamy meld that brought to mind fresh gingerbread with whipped cream. The salted caramel...I seriously couldn't tell it was sugar free, and I am uber sensitive to that. SO, so good...no exaggeration, just like a barista made it. I had a similar drink at a high-priced chain, and my home brew was right on the same plane.
Creative juices fueled, I think of the other end of the beverage spectrum: Alcohol. But what goes good with a gingerbread flavor...
AMARETTO!
I mixed up an Amaretto and Coke, and added a splash of the Gingerbread Syrup. It was very tasty, reminiscent of spiced rum, but richer.
Thirsty yet?
So that left the Salted Caramel. And inspiration struck again. If coffee is Torani Syrup's best friend, then coffee liqueur is a no-brainer. So I mixed up a coffee liqueur and cream and added a splash of the Salted Caramel Syrup.
So sweet. creamy and smooth, it almost counts as dessert. Yes, almost...because the muse struck again.
If it makes a nice creamy drink, wouldn't it make a nice creamy dessert?
It does. I added the Gingerbread Syrup to vanilla pudding.
It gives it almost an eggnog flavor, perfect for the holidays. Being basic vanilla pudding, it could be used in a variety of desserts, from pies to parfaits.
My eyes have been opened to all of the possibilities. I had eyed Torani Syrups in the store, never realizing how versatile and fun they were. I'm going to enjoy trying new ideas with these two flavors, and plan to try many more in the future.
