We all love to get cool stuff for our kids, especially when it comes to their rooms. The drawback is when you open up the novel-length directions and ponder what you've gotten yourself in for. Enter 3DLIGHTFX.
Yep, that's a light-up Death Star. I know, calm down. Let me tell you just what you're looking at here.
3DLIGHTFX 3D Deco Lights are the perfect gift this holiday season. They
have a full range of comic book, super hero, Disney Princess, sports and
car lights that look as though they are popping right out of the wall!
They are battery operated and cool to the touch so you can place them
any where in the room! Your kids will loves having these in their rooms
and they're also the perfect editions to a den, family room, man's cave
or office!
Wait...popping out of the wall?
Yes. And I know what you're thinking. This has got to be complicated on a horrific level. Like, massive need for tools and chocolate status.
Nope. This is the whole kit. It includes the fasteners needed and a crack sticker to give it the "busting through the wall' look.
You will need a drill to open up the holes for the screws, since it uses those locking thingys, and a screwdriver. It's not bad, though...it looks fabulously detailed, but the Death Star itself is fairly lightweight. First, though, you have to put up the "crack" sticker. You need a flat edge, and rub and gently peel. I started with the small cracks, working my way inward, and that worked well.
You can see that they take the pain of lining it up away with the guide holes. Drill, insert the plastic supports, and screw in the whole shebang, leaving a slight gap to hang on. The light itself runs on 3 AAs, not included, and the battery compartment is easy to access and open. It stays cool, too.
Slide the light on to the screws, and you're good. I know, where the heck is the switch to turn it on? Easily accessible on the side, and as well as the standard on/off, there's a timed option, so this can work as a nightlight without killing the batteries.
So finally, to the Empire goes the spoils. How cool is this?
An added bonus...it reflects off the ceiling due to where I placed it.
Best of all were my kids' reactions when they saw it.
These amazing products are available for purchase at Target and Target.com. Go here. I think these could be a lot of fun in multiples, to make scenes. I also think I need one for my office. Or more.
I received a product for testing and review purposes. My opinions and nerd tendencies are my own.
