Dr. Teal's Lavender Epsom Salt Soaking Solution: A Surprising Spa at Home!

So yeah, they really do work. The hair volumizer was particularly nice...my hair felt super clean, but also very soft.

The most dramatic, though, was the foot soak. I did my right foot only so I could compare, and it's a huge difference. The dead skin just sloughed off easily. See?

So Smiley360 was cool enough to hook me up with a chance to try out the Tazo Chai Teas. I have a love of tea that goes back to my way younger years, so I was very excited.

What is Tazo Chai?

It's available in both filter bags and boxed liquid concentrate in Classic, Organic, Decaf, Vanilla Caramel, Chocolate, and Pumpkin Spice, and can be enjoyed either hot or iced.

So what could be better than that?

How about cupcakes?

Yes, indeedy. Cupcakes made with Tazo Chai Pumpkin Spice Latte concentrate, and topped with Pumpkin Spice Chai buttercream frosting. Intrigued? Here's how to make them. My inspiration came from this recipe.

Tazo Chai Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes

Cupcakes:
1 1/4 cups flour
1 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp cardamom
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup Tazo Chai Pumpkin Spice Latte concentrate
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla

Preheat oven to 350. Line pans with cupcake liners.

Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices together.

Combine the chai concentrate and milk together in another bowl, stirring well.

In a big bowl, whisk the eggs for 20 seconds, then add the sugar and whisk 30 more seconds. Add oil and vanilla, and whisk until well combined.

Alternately pour in the flour mixture and chai mixture, beating until completely combined. Pour into lined cupcake pans.

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a probe inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.

Frosting:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
3 cups confectioners sugar
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp chai concentrate, divided

Reduce the 1/2 cup of chai concentrate over medium heat until it's down to about 2 tsp. It will thicken, but it should still stay a liquid. It thickens a bit as it cools, so watch for that. Cool in refrigerator.

Beat butter until smooth. Add 1 cup of sugar and combine.

Add the 2 tbsp of unreduced chai concentrate and combine. Add the remaining sugar in 1/2 cup increments, combining after each.

Add the cooled, reduced chai concentrate and combine on high to mix completely.

Frost and enjoy! I used a pastry bag myself.

And what more appropriate accompaniment than a hot cup of the same Tazo Chai?

An interesting side effect of making this recipe is that your house will smell FANTASTIC. Between the baking and the chai reduction, the spicy scent permeates everywhere...it is truly wonderful. You really gotta try this tea, whatever you do with it. They're all SO yum.

Ricola Revitalizing Herb Drops: The Candy That Kicks Fatigue's Butt. #swissherbs #sponsored

Because I'm a Chrüterchrafter on Crowdtap, I got to try out Ricola's latest herb drop...and this one gives great rush. For real.

It's still a cool cough drop, like you'd expect from Ricola. But it not only eases coughs, it gives you a hand when your cold gets you dragging. It even makes you feel perky when you're not sick at all. They have B vitamins mixed in with those herbs, and ginseng. Two drops provide 20% of the Adult Daily Value of B6 and B12. My experience? I did feel more alert and awake after only two drops.

The best part? It tastes like a fizzy lemon drop. They are seriously good.  Since you can have 2-10 drops per day, you can really get your lemon party on. Crowdtap was cool to me again, and this time my sampling hit on one of the things that make my life very happy.

I love coffee. I mean, I really love coffee. Anyone who knows me for longer than two minutes knows I love coffee, but you have to talk to me a bit longer to realize how MUCH I love coffee. Even my toddler tells me to go get more coffee when I'm grumpy. So anytime I get a chance to try anything that makes coffee even more fabulous, I do a little jig. (Mentally.)

You can get Caramel, Mocha, Hazelnut and Vanilla. It's like those squirty deals that you add to water to make your own flavor level drink, only this is for coffee, hence more fabulous.

Of course, I needed to put it to a proper test, and not just because I wanted to drink a boatload of coffee. Which I totally did.  And what better platform to start with than my favorite Folgers coffee, Black Silk, and a french press?

Don't fret...I did use my smaller cups. See? I'm normally a cream and sugar type, but for testing purposes, I went straight. Even then, it was still VERY good, which makes me wonder if I can save a few calories.

That's the Caramel, and it really has a great candy taste. This was the favorite of my teen. She got decaf, though.

 

Hazelnut ha a bit of a weird scent in the bottle, but the flavor is great....nutty without being too sweet.

Mocha is REALLY chocolatey. It's more of a creamy than a dark chocolate, which totally worked for me.

Finally, Vanilla. I love vanilla creamer and such, but it never seems vanilla enough. This does the trick nicely, without that overpowering whipped-cream type taste.

I thought all of them were delicious, but my fave is the Caramel. It's VERY smooth. A heads up, though...a little goes a long way. The most I used was two quick squirts, and that was for a full-size iced coffee cup. You do NOT want to overdo, or all that I said about not being overly sweet goes right out the window. And yes, I did exactly that.

The bottle shape is great, as it fits easily into a bag, and the seal is very good...even after my kid stepped on it, it didn't come open, so you can feel safe bringing it along. We've all had that terrible coffee, so think of it as the ultimate coffee experience backup. I'm keeping mine handy!

Zep Cleaning Products: Go Pro With Your Clean! #ZepCleansters #Sponsored

I had heard of Zep Cleaning Products before, but Crowdtap was cool enough to gave me a chance to try two of them, the Quick Clean Disinfectant and the All-Around Oxy Cleaner and Degreaser.

I wanted to give the All-Around Oxy Cleaner and Degreaser a real test, so I went for one of the hardest things to clean: my very nasty looking oven door.

This was the result. Compare the sides.

That's a spray and a vigorous wiping. That's it. Pretty good stuff, eh? The product made my whole kitchen pretty.

Now, as for the Quick Clean Disinfectant...I have a confession to make. My bathrooms can get downright terrible. I do clean them, but I have children whose aim is, well, sometimes very off.  I hate when they get gross, not only for the EW factor, but the germs disturb me.

I'll spare you all the sight of my toilet, but let's say there were...deposits that had dried on. Zep Quick Clean Disinfectant took care of business (literally) and left a clear and sanitized surface behind. And it was fast...spritz and wipe.

I certainly consider them both a great addition to my cleaning roster, and will be using them in the future.

My family likes a variety of candies, and snacks.  I think there are too many variations of chocolate, sweet, salty, sour, goodness in the world to just settle for a single country's version of them. This is why I was excited to find Skoshbox Offers a Taste of Japan at Your Doorstep.

Overly impression, I enjoyed the chocolate, and uniqueness of all the candy, and snacks.  Honestly, I am a bigger fan of foreign chocolate than the regular chocolate that's at the impulse section at our grocery stores here in the states.  Just try something new! I love letting my son try things from different cultures, I never want to hear him say "Ew" to something, just because it isn't what is normally seen in the store.  

A Black Tie Look for My Chick-Fil-A Nuggets!

I was handed a challenge by the Chick-Fil-A Moms group, and since it involved food, namely Chick-Fil-A, I totally had to do it. The challenge: Take your basic chicken nuggets and dress them up to make a new and fun snack or meal. I opted for the original nuggets.

Challenge accepted. Behold, my Chicken Parmesan Party Bites.

It's a super easy prep, with simple ingredients. You need:

1. Two Twelve-Piece boxes of Chick-Fil-A Nuggets.
2. Your favorite tomato sauce
3. Your favorite shredded cheese (I used Colby/Jack)

Toothpick the nuggets so that the picks only extend from the bottom. Daub a bit of tomato sauce on each one. I used a baby-sized spoon for optimum control. Then drop a few strands of cheese on top...it only takes a few, since they're small. It should look like this:

Toss it into a 400 degree over for about five minutes. You just want the cheese to melt, as the nuggets are already cooked. Remove and serve.

Noomie: Girly RC from WowWee!

I was granted the honor of playing with, I mean reviewing this adorable toy from WowWee, Noomie. Tell me that isn't serious cuteness.

Noomie is one of the many creative toys from WowWee, which was founded in 1988 as an independent research and development and manufacturing company. This includes robot toys like the Tipster and even dino robos!

But back to Noomie. Noomie is an RC toy, who has accessories, a stylish remote, and her own language. For real.

The accessories create her personality, just like in real life, right? Each piece adds its own characteristics to make her come to life. You can mix and match up to four, but she'll rock out even without any. She's cool like that. So anyway, you insert them into her "ears", mouth, and on top of her head. We tried a couple of different looks:

Then we settled on this one. The kids thought the tongue was hilarious.

So, then you grab the remote and get her going. She responds to the remote, and also to touch. It looks a little something like this:

You can hear her chattering away. Remember when I said she has her own language? She totally does. It's called Noomian, and you get a cheat sheet included with the instructions. Here's an example:

Awesome, right? And I know what you're thinking. You liked playing with it, but can it hold a kid's attention? Oh yes. Evidence is shown here.

That's a two-year-old and a five-year-old enjoying the same toy. Near the end, you also see my cat, who was also wanting to be part of the fun. He ninja-sneaked poor Noomie later, but she was rescued unharmed.

In my opinion, this toy is a great combination of an RC and a building toy, and the wide range of options make it a perfect gift across a wide age range. It's fun to even just play dressup with, and the soft, rubbery hair makes her cuddly. Noomie has been out for playtime every day since the first, and I think she's going to be a permanent part of our fun for a long time. Ni-Mee-Na Noomie!
